Keeping Pilots Safe.
Safeguarding the future of GA.
There are many people who have a desire to fly, but very few of them make it all the way into our group of certificated pilots. The Flight Training Excellence Awards were created to recognize those flight schools and flight instructors that help our budding pilots succeed and give our flying community the best chance to create lifelong passionate aviators. Award recipients are named from the results of the Flight Training Excellence Poll. The Poll is based on AOPA’s extensive research into the optimal flight training experience and focuses on four key factors: educational quality; customer focus; community; and information sharing. The poll is open to all pilots who have received training from the school or instructor they are providing feedback on within the previous 24 months. 3,375 individuals completed the poll in 2013. This resulted in reviews of 508 different flight schools and 956 different flight instructors.
Support the Flight Training Excellence Awards! Your donation will allow us to open the online poll for approximately 5 months of the year and then celebrate and acknowledge these award winners. All award winners are recognized by AOPA throughout the following year to help guide students to a successful environment. AOPA also provides support to the flight school and instructors on a local level to help promote their achievement both locally and nationally.
