The AOPA Foundation has selected two nonprofits to receive the first $5,000 grants from a new program supporting organizations that offer scholarships to their members.
Ceci Stratford, a pilot from Simi Valley, California, gives back to aviation by sponsoring Flight Training scholarships.
Sarah Wilson, the former corporate pilot turned open-cockpit barnstormer, initiated the $5,000 Jimmie Allen Flying Club Scholarship to encourage future pilots who also are looking for something different from their flying. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is Aug. 9.
